Indivisible

Indivisible by Kristen Heitzmann, is based in a small town in Colorado with Police Chief Jonah Westfall and a gruesome discovery of dead animals. A suspenseful novel with carefully spun imagery.

This is the first novel I have read by Kristen, and will probably investigate her other writings. Although this book is tedious and slow to get into, feeling a bit choppy at the beginning, it was hard to follow the separate characters. I had to reread some parts, and honestly almost put it down completely, but once past the first few chapters I was interested to learn more about the characters. She smartly weaves and reveals their story throughout the book, creatively to keep you reading to discover what you might beginning to suspect. By the end you realize the cleverness of her tale in her unique writing style.

I did want some more resolve to some aspects of the story but then maybe that will pull you into a sequel if there is to be one.

It wasn't my favorite mystery I've ever read, but intense enough to keep you reading without being afraid to be home alone. I look forward to reading more of her work. It was entertaining and would recommend this book to any mystery suspense lover.

I did receive this book from Waterbrook Multomah in exchange for writing a review after reading it.
